Do you remember Bint Maisa El Saghira?
Do you remember *Bint Maisa El Saghira? Of all the Gleannloch imports from the EAO I think this mare did more for generating interest in the Straight Egyptian lines than any other. *Bint Maisa El Saghira was imported from Egypt in 1962 and she was U.S. National Top Ten Park Horse in 1964 and she became U.S. National Top Ten halter mare in 1965 as well as US National Top Ten English Pleasure mare. The fact that she was a Park horse champion prior to her halter win tells you a bit about the quality of her movement. This mare was shown by Tom and Rhita McNair all over the United States in both riding and halter classes. Those were the days my friend...indeed! Sorry that is the name of a song going through my head right now..LOL

There are some nice photos of *Bint Maisa El Saghira on Ralph Suarez's blogspot. Take a look here... She came from Bahrain

While *Bint Maisa El Saghira lives on in many, many SE lines through her famous sons, Amaal by *Morafic, Shamruk by *Ibn Hafiza and Shaikh Al Badi also by *Morafic I am wondering have we have managed to squander this line through the tail female?

*Bint Maisa El Saghira produced the following offspring:

1. Dahmah Shahwaniah, Mare, Foaled Feb. 04, 1966 by *Ansata Ibn Halima
2. Dahma Il Ashekwar, Mare, Foaled Jan 03, 1977 by *Fahidd
3. Amaal, Stallion, Foaled, Jan 19, 1968 by *Morafic
4. Shaikh Al Badi, Stallion, Foaled Jan 17, 1969 by *Morafic
5. Radia, Mare, Foaled Jan 14, 1970 by *Morafic
6. Rihanha, Mare, Foaled Feb 16, 1971 by *Morafic
7. Nafairtiti, Mare, Foaled July 01, 1972 by *Morafic
8. Shamruk, Stallion, Foaled June 18, 1973 by *Ibn Hafiza

If *Bint Maisa El Saghira had only produced Shaikh Al Badi she would have a place in history for sure but look at all her fabulous offspring. She was definately a mare that could produce a top quality son as well as a top quality daughter.
Another thing to note is her breeding record....in foal without problems year after year....amazing considering some of the fertility problems that we see in some lines.

It is now the year 2011.... Where are all the tail female *Bint Maisa El Saghira's?? Did her daughters produce on and if so who has a tail female *Bint Maisa El Saghira?

RE: Do you remember Bint Maisa El Saghira?
I was hoping someone in Germany would post some Bint Maisa El Saghira tail female offspringSmile

After all, one of her beautiful grand daughters came to Germany via Count Zichy Thyssen and that was the very beautiful AK Nawaal!

Where are all the daughters of AK Nawaal? Does anyone have any photos of Nadeemah, Ni Ma Abadi and Authentic Nabeelah to show us? Big Grin

Smile Hello Teymur B,

Yes this was an American import by Douglas Marshall of Gleannloch Farms but she is the dam of some pretty famous offspring.

Here is a photo of her that was in Authentic Arabian Bloodstock by Judith Forbis. The photo is credited to Potter. While it shows her fantastic movement you really can't see much detail. She obviously did not have the exotic head that everyone seems to want these days but a head is the easiest thing to fix IMHO. She certainly could moveSmile

She can be found of course in a lot of pedigrees through her son Shaikh Al Badi who is the sire of Ruminaja Ali and Alidaar. It is her tail female that is somewhat rare these days.

Smile Thanks Rosi for the photo of Authentic Nabeelah...she looks lovely!

AND your English is much better than my non-existent GermanConfused

This is good news for Al Rayyan. I wonder if they have a tail female of this mare line?

RE: Do you remember Bint Maisa El Saghira?
One of the most beautiful Ansata Ibn Halima daughters was Dahmah Shahwaniah and out of Bint Maisa El Saghira.

Dahmah Shahwaniah was an excellent broodmare and she produced

Shahid, Bay Stallion foaled on May 31, 1970 by *Morafic
Almawardy, Bay Stallion foaled on Apr 25, 1972 by *Ibn Hafiza
Marbah, Grey Mare foaled on Apr 01, 1974 by *Morafic (no offspring)
Dar Al Salam, Bay Stallion foaled on Apr 24, 1975 by *Sakr (no offspring)
Ibn Dahmahn, Bay Stallion foaled on 20 Apr, 1976 by *Ibn Hafiza
AK Shah Moniet, Grey Stallion foaled on Feb 13, 1978 by *Ibn Moniet El Nefous
AK El Ahsaan, Grey Stallion foaled on Feb 10, 1979 by *Ibn Moniet El Nefous
(no offspring)
AK Maalouf, Grey Stallion foaled on Feb 28, 1980 by *Ibn Moniet El Nefous (no offspring)
AK Nawaal, Grey Mare foaled on May 12, 1981 by The Egyptian Prince
Dahmah Reshan, Grey Mare foaled on Aug 28, 1983 by The Egyptian Prince
AK Salimah Sharaf, Bay Mare foaled on Jul 22, 1984 by Moniet El Shahraf
AK Ishmael, Grey Stallion, foaled on Jul 08 1985 by Shaikh Al Badi
Shaikh Al Shahwan, Grey Stallion, foaled on Jun 23, 1986 by Shaikh Al Badi
ZT Bahshahwaniah, Grey Mare, foaled on Mar 12, 1990 by Ruminaja Bahjat

Big Grin Well one can see she was quite the colt producer! Thank goodness we had AK Nawaal, Dahmah Reshan, AK Salimah Sharaf and her last foal ZT Bahshahwaniah

While ZT Bahshahwaniah's first foal was not Asil she has more than made up for her dam's colt producing ability.

There may be more foals but the data base is not up to date for foreign countries (a shame really) but here is what she produced...

ZT Ludshawaniah, Roan Mare foaled Jul 29, 1994 by Ludjin El Jamaal
ZT Tawaasul, Chestnut Mare foaled Aug 14 1996 by El Thay Mansour
ZT Manhal, Chestnut Mare foaled Aug 26, 1997 by Imperial Madheen
ZT Mathal, Bay Mare foaled Sep 12, 1998 by Imperial Madheen
ZT Mirdakh, Grey Stallion foaled Nov 11, 1999 by Imperial Madheen
ZT Mimraah, Bay Mare foaled Nov 01, 2000 by Imperial Madheen
ZT Ribwah, Grey Mare foaled Nov 06, 2991 by Richter MH

So far according the the date base only ZT Ludshawaniah and ZT Tawaasul have produced foals....

Hum.... what a treasure trove of Madheen blood!
