I used the photos which were already on my website - used the link (insert image) rather than uploading them. I was surprised when they weren't downsized <smile>
Ghashahn's pedigree

Uhmm, I agree, he does appear leggy, though stands at 14.3hh ~ his legginess gives the illusion that he's taller. Along with his slightly higher neck set which allows him to become impressive when he's strutting his stuff. My preference is for a balanced individual and as such legginess isn't my most treasured attribute <sigh, smile> His filly, Ghayl, appears to have this legginess though like another descendant, Janidah (two crosses), was this way as well. Janidah was over 15hh and aside of being leggy which emphasised her average neck length, she was a well bodied mare.
Bay isn't foremost in this pedigree nor that of the dam line. Nearest is 5 generations back (in both) and one of these is Bint Maisa El Saghira. The reason why this thread caught my attention - I'd like to learn more about Bint Maisa El Saghira. Others are Halima, Bint Bint Moniet El Nefous (x Rashad Ibn Nazeer), Sabah El Kheir (Tuhotmos x Zabeia), Hannah (although I'm of the understanding that she was more black than bay) and Ansata El Shahwan. Having seen Ansata El Shahwan, Da'an isn't like his build nor bay tone. Da'an is a dark bay and appears to be getting darker already (showing a black under coat) and so far, he is what I would consider a lighter overall build than Ansata El Shahwan. It would be interesting to see which bay Da'an resembles most with the consideration that colour and attributes tend to be linked.
Both foals have some of their sire's little nuances!
cheers

Thanks Dianne for posting the photos.... Question...LOL... How did you get them so big?? Much better for viewing in this size.
I tried with this outdated Data Source to look up Greenmantle Ghashahn and couldn't find the pedigree. This photo reminds me a bit of the younger photo of Shaikh Al Badi, all legs
In thinking about Bint Maisa El Saghira and her famous sons I wonder myself who is giving more to the overall stretch and elegance in the offspring of Ali, Fayez, Nabiel etc.
